I hope your 2016 is off to a great start! The new year offers a fresh start to revisit where you are today and what you hope to accomplish in the year ahead. There’s a lot of pressure to set “resolutions” but the word itself means to solve a problem or to firmly decide to do or not to do something. I don’t think we should approach the year as if we’re trying to solve a problem. We should embrace that we are not perfect but striving to do and be our best. We don’t need to beat ourselves up by setting strict resolutions that we won’t always be able to follow. Instead of resolutions, we should set intentions that include clear goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bound (SMART).
If part of your new year’s intentions include eating and preparing healthier meals on a more regular basis, then consider signing up for Rawcology’s Kick-start 2016 With Everyday Herbs class on Saturday, January 23rd from 2-4PM. I’ve teamed up with Toronto-based Holistic Nutritionist Erin Levine to offer a hands-on afternoon where you will learn all about the medicinal properties of everyday herbs and how to incorporate them into your daily cooking. Walk away with a full belly, tons of recipes and a few goodies. Recipes include: golden turmeric milk, veggie chilli, nettle soup, spicy Egyptian dukkah, pistachio tapenade, savoury seed crackers, and chamomile lavender soft serve. All recipes will be 100% raw, vegan, organic, dairy-free and gluten-free.
