Salted Date Caramel
Sweet, silky, creamy, and dreamy.
This homemade salted caramel sauce goes perfectly with ice cream, yogurt bowls, crisp tart apples, and of course by the spoonful.
All the sweetness & none of the refined sugars. The balance between the healthy fats from the coconut milk and the fiber packed dates help to keep the blood sugar balanced- leaving you with a sweet treat to feel good about.
- 1½ cup canned coconut milk (full fat)
- ½ cup coconut sugar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 6 medjool dates
- 1 tbsp arrowroot starch
- ½ tsp salt
In a high-speed blender, add all the ingredients and blend until you have a thick paste. Add more coconut milk if needed.
Pour the mixture into a saucepan over medium heat, whisk until caramel starts to bubble. This will take around 5 minutes total.
Once cooled, pour into a glass jar and store in fridge.
